Sharing More Apple Recipes ~ Today's Share Is Skillet Apple Pie!!

Good morning y'all!! I hope all of you have had a beautiful week!  I'm so excited to share today's recipe with you!!  This is the easiest and best recipe for apple pie that I have ever seen!
I've made lots of apple pies and I have some really good recipes, but this is by far the BEST ONE YET!!  I actually got the recipe from Food Network's Trisha Yearwood's tv show.  When I first saw it, I thought, "Nope, I don't think I'll make that.  Homemade is for sure better."  Well, I was WRONG!!
After you make this, I am sure you'll  agree!!

Let's get started...

You'll need a regular sized iron skillet

Your ingredients are very simple:

One stick of butter
One cup of light brown sugar
Two refrigerated rolled pie crusts
One can of apple pie filling
Two tablespoons of cinnamon & sugar mixed together

By the way...as you all know, I try to be a "thrifty shopper" so I have to do a "shout out" to ALDI!  I LOVE to shop there!!  Every ingredient pictured here came from ALDI.  These products are comparable to the name brand products! I can NOT  tell a difference at all!!  If you haven't shopped there, give it a try!   You are sure to save money there!

Okay, back to the recipe...

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Melt the butter in your skillet and set aside just a little of the melted butter to brush on top of  your crust.

Now, add the brown sugar to the butter and and MELT (not boil) the brown sugar into the butter for about 2 minutes.  Then, remove the skillet from the heat.

This will be the base of your pie.  It makes a "caramel" crust that really makes this pie soooo good!

Now, take your refrigerated crusts out of the package and roll one out and place it gently over the brown sugar mixture.  Don't worry if it cracks.  It will all bake back together!

Whew... this is hard work! :)  Just kidding!! This is SO EASY!!! I can't wait for you to try it!!

Now, open your can of pie filling and pour it on top of your crust in the skillet.  Sprinkle one tablespoon of the cinnamon-sugar on top of the pie filling.

Top that with the other crust.

Cut vents into the crust so your pie can "breathe".  :)

Brush your reserved melted butter on top of the pie.

Sprinkle one tablespoon of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top of the pie.

Bake for only 30 minutes and then... this WONDERFUL CREATION  happens!!

Serve this warm with vanilla bean ice cream!  You're welcome! ;)

Your skillet will be "clean" and empty in about 5 minutes after serving your pie!! This will be devoured!!

Enjoy!!! <3
