You may have heard these sayings before..
.
"I Haven't Been Everywhere, But It's On My List!"
and
"Collect Moments Not Things"
Well, these are two of my favorite sayings when it comes to travel and life!
As many of you probably already know,
Anthony's job as a Catastrophe Insurance Adjuster allows for lots and lots of travel!
We've done so much of it in the past,
sometimes for work and sometimes for fun!
We've been so blessed to be able to see lots of God's beautiful creation in so many different
parts of the world!
In fact, as far as travel inside of the United States, I only have 6 more states to see all of the
great U.S.A.
and
Anthony only has 5 more states to see it all!

There are two things that we always try to do before we head home from our travels.
The first thing we try to do is...
We take a picture together for memories sake.
Here are a few "selfies" we snapped along our way
in Alaska, Puerto Rico and Canada in the past couple of years!
It's so funny that as I was uploading these pictures, I noticed that Anthony holds the camera
with his right hand and we are always in the same pose!
with his right hand and we are always in the same pose!
Hahahaha!!
and
the second thing we do is ...
We always try to bring back a souvenir.
I prefer a natural souvenir that is absolutely free!
To me, it somehow means more to bring something home from nature.
I bring home rocks, shells, starfish, sand dollars or pinecones!
That is, only if it's permitted!
Then, I put them in pretty jars, label them with the date and destination and there you have
it...
A souvenir that was free and fun to gather in the moment!
I have so many of these jars!
They really are jars of memories!!
Here are just a few!
I love to add pieces of nature into my home!
It helps remind me of our God and His blessings!
We very seldom purchase souvenirs for ourselves, but recently, we did take a trip that I just couldn't
resist buying a couple of things.
We were able to go to the
Pioneer Woman's Mercantile and Restaurant
in Pawhuska, Oklahoma!
We got there super early, around 7:30 a.m., so the crowd wasn't bad at all!
I was so excited!!
I could hardly order for looking around for a glimpse of Ree or another member of the
Drummond Family!
Anthony really enjoyed his Cowboy Breakfast Burrito!
The food was delicious!!
Everyone was very friendly and her place is so homey and down-to-earth!
Here are a few pictures of her Mercantile Store...
After breakfast, we headed upstairs to visit the Bakery!!
I snagged a few yummy treats up there...
A Key Lime Cupcake
~ YUM ~
and we took home some treats to share with the kids...
Ladd's Favorite Pecan Sticky Buns
and
Ree's Famous Maple Cinnamon Rolls
After the Bakery, we went back downstairs to do a little shopping!
After all, it's not everyday that you're in Ree Drummond's Merc!
Here are a few things that I took home...
I bought Jude a little something
and we bought a few gifts for the women in our families!
but
Here's what I got for myself
A New Sheet Pan
and
These Beautiful Little Plates
Before too long, it was time for us to head out, but before we could leave,
we had to snap a picture!
By this time, the line was starting to build up outside with people waiting to go inside!
I had read that Ree does special tours of her Lodge during the week for free,
but, unfortunately, the day that we were there was not a tour day.
That, of course, did not stop Anthony from riding around in search of the Ranch!
Guess what????
He found it!!
It was all that I could do to keep him from going up the driveway!!
:)
While he was turning around, we just happened to see Ladd heading toward town!
He actually waved at us!
When we passed him in town, you will be interested to know that
he had on a Cowboy Hat and Boots with Spurs, just like on t.v.!
They are the real deal!
From our visit, I really do believe that what you see on t.v., is what they really are like!
If you ever have a chance to go visit,
GO!!
You will LOVE it!!
Well, soon after our adventure in Oklahoma, it was time to head to Savannah, Georgia for work.
We were only gone for 8 days this time.
We just couldn't wait to get home to see this little fella!
It was so good to be home, as usual!
While we were gone, just look at what happened...
8 Days
15 Hens
78 Eggs!!!
Ashley and Austin had picked up our eggs for us and tended to my flock while we were away.
Thank you kids <3 <3
I have SO MANY EGGS!!
I have had to be creative on how to fix them.
One of my favorite things to make with them is
~ Homemade Quiche ~
I thought that I might share my recipe with you!
Here's what you will need:
8 Large Whole Eggs
Onion
Green Bell Pepper
Butter
Cooked Bacon
1 and 1/2 Cups of Half and Half
2 Cups of Grated Colby Jack Cheese
Salt and Pepper To Taste
1 Unbaked Deep Dish Pie Crust
In an iron skillet or sauce pan, melt some butter and saute' chopped onion and bell pepper
and set aside.
Meanwhile, cook and chop some bacon and set aside also.
In a large mixing bowl, crack your 8 eggs and whisk with 1 and 1/2 cups of half and half, salt
and pepper.
Add the cheese, bacon, peppers and onion all into the egg mixture.
Pour the entire mix into an unbaked pie crust.
Bake covered with foil in a 400 degree oven for 40 minutes.
Uncover after the first 40 minutes and continue to cook for 20 additional
minutes until a knife inserted comes out clean.
Cool slightly before slicing
and
ENJOY!!
This is such a delicious treat to have for breakfast or
to serve to your overnight guests!
I hope you will give it a try!
Before I go, I wanted to share a product tip with you!
I know with the holidays coming up, you may be hosting dinners or
get togethers and using your
"Good Dishes".
If you have flatware or serving pieces that are tarnished or aged,
try using this...
Wright's Silver Cream
It is as simple as rubbing on and rinsing off!
I bought this set of flatware at a yard sale for only $12 dollars
years ago in Kentucky on our travels
and it often becomes tarnished and dull.
After using this product though...
It looks as good as new!
Well, I hope you have a beautiful day
and always remember...
to enjoy the Special Moments in your life!
Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (KJV)
